Meet Dr. Ronald E. Moser
Ronald E. Moser, M.D., is an Orange County general and cosmetic surgeon specializing in cosmetic surgery of the breast and body, Dr. Moser received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. He did his postgraduate internship and general surgery residency at The University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine. This was followed by an intensive three-year cosmetic surgery fellowship at The Southern California Associated Plastic Surgeons Medical Group in Anaheim, California.
Dr. Moser's Technique:
Dr. Moser is an expert in breast implant removal, having performed 750 to 1,000 breast implant removal surgeries. His technique for breast implant removal or replacement usually involves removing or replacing the implants through the original incision to minimize the possibility of additional scarring. This procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia for optimum comfort.
Dr. Moser will remove or replace the implants and any scar tissue that may have formed around them (capsules). Any subsequent breast procedures, such as a breast lift, may be performed if desired. Dr. Moser will close the incisions, and you will be monitored until you are awake from anesthesia.
Recovery from breast implant removal or replacement is more manageable than primary breast augmentation because there is less manipulation of the tissue from the original operation. You will need to wear a compression bandage for a few weeks after surgery, which will help the healing process and reduce swelling. You'll notice the reduced size and weight of your breasts immediately after surgery, with a smaller, lighter feel if the implants are not replaced. Within one to two weeks, as bruising and swelling fade, your breasts will settle into a natural position on the chest with a more moderate profile.
